Complete guide to the Auto-Sell feature in Catch a Monster. Learn how to enable it, protect Shiny and Huge pets, and optimize inventory management.

Catch a Monster Auto-Sell Guide: How to Protect Shinies & Huges
The Auto-Sell feature was added in the December 2025 update and has become one of the most requested improvements. However, many players are accidentally selling their Shiny and Huge monsters. Here's everything you need to know.
⚠️ Critical Issue: Auto-Sell Deletes Shinies & Huges
Current Problem: Auto-Sell will sell ALL monsters of selected ranks, including Shiny and Huge variants.
Community Feedback:
- "Auto-sell is destroying my shinies and huges, I've already lost so many" - Multiple players
- "I just got my first shiny and it got insta sold" - Common complaint
Temporary Solution (Until Patched)
- Manually lock important pets before enabling Auto-Sell
- Check your pet center frequently when AFK farming
- Disable Auto-Sell if you're hunting for Shinies/Huges
How to Use Auto-Sell Safely
Step 1: Enable Auto-Sell
- Open the Pet Center
- Look for the Auto-Sell toggle
- Select which ranks to auto-sell (usually E, D, C)
Step 2: Lock Your Valuables
Currently, you MUST manually lock:
- All Shiny monsters
- All Huge monsters
- High-rank monsters (B+)
- Event-exclusive pets
How to Lock Pets:
- Open Pet Center
- Click on the pet
- Select "Lock" option (padlock icon)
What Players Are Asking For
Based on official Discord suggestions, the community wants:
1. Auto-Lock for Shinies & Huges (Top Request)
- Automatically lock any Shiny or Huge caught
- Prevents accidental selling
- Status: Requested, not yet implemented
2. Rank-Based Auto-Lock
- Auto-lock B-rank and above
- Customizable threshold
- Status: Community suggestion
3. Better Filtering Options
- Exclude specific monster types
- "Sell all except [X]" options
- Status: Under consideration
Auto-Sell Best Practices
Safe Ranks to Auto-Sell
✅ E-Rank - Always safe to sell ✅ D-Rank - Safe unless farming specific monsters ⚠️ C-Rank - Use caution; some C-ranks are useful for fusion
Ranks to NEVER Auto-Sell
❌ B-Rank - Rare and valuable ❌ A-Rank - Very rare ❌ S-Rank - Extremely rare
Common Auto-Sell Mistakes
- "I enabled Auto-Sell and lost my Shiny Glazadon"
- "Auto-Sell deleted my B-rank fusion material"
- "I don't know which pets got sold"
Future Updates (What's Coming?)
The developers are aware of the Shiny/Huge auto-sell issue. Expected improvements:
- Auto-Lock toggle for Shinies & Huges
- Sell confirmation for rare pets
- Whitelist/Blacklist system for specific monsters
